History

The first product of the company was Portable Digital Hardness Tester, which was designed and produced for the first time in 1999 in the country, and until today, a large number of them have been used in universities, laboratories and various industries. In the following years, other devices were designed and produced regarding testing the properties of materials, so that currently more than 17 products are being produced and it is still continued.

In 2013, KOOPA’s Universal Testing Machine was introduced to the market. In the manufacture of these devices, five models of tensile test machines are produced with the capacity of 5, 10, 20, 30, 50 and 75 tons. These machines could perform tensile, compression and bending tests.

In 2013, the company received the ISO9001:2008 quality management certificate. Also, after the review of the working group for the evaluation of knowledge-based companies, on 6/17/2013, KOOPA was recognized as a knowledge-based company. The certificate of recognition of the best technology of the province was awarded to the CEO of the company in 1994. Moreover, the certificate of the best high-tech company of the province was received in 1995.

CEO’s resume

My name is Ahmad Mootab, I was born on March 28, 1965 in Sari and I am the eldest child in the family. I completed primary and half of middle school before the revolution. I spent the days of the revolution as a passionate teenager. High school years were full of events of revolution and imposed war. I received a diploma in mathematics and physics in 1983 and was immediately accepted into the first national entrance exam after the Cultural Revolution in the field of electronics at Mashhad University.

Despite many problems in the university system, such as the lack of university facilities, textbooks and professors, I finished my bachelor’s degree within four years, and in 1988, I quickly got a job in the computer electronics department of the self-sufficient industries of Tehran Defense Industries to do military service. I gained valuable training and experience during this time. In 1990, after completing my military service, I worked in a private company in Tehran, and due to the capabilities I showed, I was sent to Tokyo, Japan for a two-week training course. I was deeply impressed. Things were progressing very well until, with the insistence of my friends, I participated in the master’s exam in 1991 and was accepted in the same year, and I had to choose between work and university. I wish I would have chosen work, but by choosing a university, I completed a master’s course in the field of power at Khajeh Nasir University in Tehran up to 1995. During these years, I was simultaneously doing projects by contract.

Since 1995, I officially entered the job market as a self-employee, and with the help of some of my friends, we established a company in Tehran (Azin Technology Company). Due to our lack of experience in marketing and the lack of teamwork training and the limited Iranian market those years, the company was closed. After that, I once again established a new company (called Rosebad Company) with other friends, but things did not go well. Due to the death of my father and the family being alone, I returned to my hometown in Sari, and I managed to design and automate several factories in the cities of Mazandaran province.

In 1996, with the cooperation of a friend, we worked on the design of a device called a metal hardness tester, which did not exist in Iran before. After two years, this device was built and given as a sample to several craftsmen for testing. By eliminating the disadvantages of the device and more demand, we decided to produce it officially under the name of a company. With the establishment of Koopa Research Company in 1999, a new chapter in working life began. From 1999 to now, I have made all efforts and investments on Koopa Research and Koopa brand. And today, Koopa brand is one of the most prominent brands in the field of material testing equipment.
